After joining a meeting you can test your audio connection by clicking Test Computer Audio. Check your volume and output by clicking Test Speaker. If you cannot hear, adjust the output volume or select a different speaker device. Speak at a normal volume to check the input level.

You should see a green bar move up and down. If the audio is not registering, select a different microphone device. Please help. I downloaded and installed the most current release this morning and found the same problem. Last week, last release it worked fine. To resolve, I opened the ‘participants’ tab and found the option ‘Allow users to unmute themselves’ was not selected. I selected it and the users were able to login and unmute themselves. This is a major issue for the system, should be resolved ASAP and not wait for next release cycle. This happened for the first time during an important meeting.

Hi there – we have been having the same zoom meeting every week since the pandemic. Suddenly last week, participants could not unmute themselves unless the host asked them to. Has there been some significant change since this will be a big problem for us. I opened the meeting this morning to do some searching on this.

This is a real problem and I see zoom is not responding. I also have the same issue. As we have a permanent room where co-worker can join whenever and chat. This means that admin isn’t always in the room. Before this works fine, but we just noticed today that unless admin joins and enables the feature, no one can unmute themselves. The setting for “Mute all Participants when joining, they can request permission to unmute” is not enabled in our account settings. I downloaded newer version this morning, 5.
